The tiny house movement (also known as the "small house movement") is a description for the architectural and social movement that advocates living simply in small homes. There is currently no set definition of what constitutes a tiny house; however, a residential structure under 500 square feet (46 m2) is generally accepted to be a tiny home.
We feel there are many reasons to live tiny as opposed to a huge house. The number one reason I can think of is less cleaning!!!! Yes I said it cleaning. Now seriously though there are many reasons why you are probably considering living tiny, but the most important should be sustainability. Have less to have more. Give you the ability to do more with less.
The best way to get started on living tiny is to make lists of the things that are most important to you and what you want to keep. If you take the plunge you probably wont be able to bring that pool table in your man cave with you, or that ginormous amount of stuff you have tucked away in your basement labeled stuff.
Living small to get more.
This is a great video on how the Finnish build traditional log homes with just a few tools. (Not in English) but still informative for sure.
We will be sharing our experience with tiny house building over the next year and want you to share yours with us as well.
